Cold plastic is the type of marking that is the most prevalent in Europe due to its characteristics and resistance. It is available in two variants:
- Thin-layer plastics for up to 2 years,
- Thick layer of plastic for up to 4 years.
Thick plastic has the ability to create conglomerates (3D parts of the tag) to produce a sound effect by crossing the tire over this type of line, as the best warning to drivers that it is near the edge of the lane.
General Advantages of Cold Plastic Tags:
- excellent adhesion to concrete or asphalt
- very good shape stability, especially at high temperatures (especially important for profiled markings)
- Good adhesion to existing solvent-based paints and cold plastic markings
- extremely wear resistant
- very good slip resistance due to the use of rough fillers
- very good adhesion of beads due to specially made coatings
- no cracks in asphalt or plastic due to the flexibility of methacrylate
- good resistance to engine oils and fuels
- Good resistance to accumulated marks on the coulter for snow removal
- cold plastic is resistant to weathering; this is especially important in view of meeting traffic requirements such as night and day visibility, slip resistance and durability
- timing and curing can be adapted to the application method (manual or machine)
